Sounds brilliant-I will make sure I tape that one on Satuday.

I am not so sure about the Wallace and Gromit one---or have I [hopefully] missed it ?

You've missed it Marian. I saw it and it was a lot of fun. Lots of children in the audience. :D
Looking forward to Saturday's too.

I haven't watched it yet as I recorded it, but I'm sure it will be great!

I posted my comments on the Seth McFarlane thread, he was much more impressive live so maybe his cd will grow on me.

However halfway through the show I had a lengthy phone call from an ex-neighbour. It's no fun trying to watch a music show with the sound muted!!!! By the time the call ended so had the show.

Yes we have recorded it too ,but John did notice while flicking over to avoid the constant adverts from the paralympics that three very talented members from the Syd Lawrence Orchestra,Jay Craig and Colin Skinner on saxophones and Mike Lovatt on trumpet were part of the orchestra. :D

We really enjoyed ''The Broadway Sound this evening. All the singers were excellent and I might buy Seth MacFarlane's CD. :D
Great orchestra too. :D

We agree with you Marian. Due to us being absorbed in the Olympics, we taped this Proms concert ..."The Broadway Sound" but didn't watch it until last night.
One of the best concerts ever. All the singers were fantastic. Seth MacFarlane was a class act particularly with "You Got Trouble" from The Music Man and The Maida Vale Singers excelled too. Julian Ovendon and Rodney Earl Clark, Elizabeth Llewellyn all superb singers.
We loved their performance of "A Little Tin Box" from the show Fiorella.
A video has appeared on Facebook with Al Martino performing this with the late Jimmy Durante, Sonny King, Eddie Jackson and Raymond Burr :D :D
Anna Jane Casey is a true professional, and led the wonderful finale.
What can you say about John Wilson and his brilliant musicians. Can't get enough of watching these shows. !!!! :)

The unfortunate thing is thought L&H that we don't get enough of shows like that so when they do come along it's like a breath of fresh air.

Remember years ago when all our favourite stars were on tv regularly either with their own show or a guest on someone else's - happy days and how I wish we had VCR's when Jack Jones had his BBC series.

The show you praise so highly I had to watch the last half hour with the sound muted as a former neighbour phoned and spoke for 40 minutes! What an absolute joy it is to watch a music show with no sound!!!!!!!
However I hadn't heard from her for a long time so I can't complain.
