BOSTON BLAST

Post by karl » Tue Apr 16, 2013 9:48 am

My aunt called last night to tell me the news, I then saw it online and on the 10pm news.

Boston is like my second home, I love that city and I know the Boylston area very well, it's right in the heart of the city.

People run marathons to raise money for charities, they do not expect or deserve to be blown up.

Thankfully the blasts did not seem too devasting and I hope they catch those responsible for their cowardly act.

3 people were killed, and over a hundred injured, some seriously--I think that is bad enough, although we know it could have been worse.

I have some great memories of Boston. A very special place.

I know what you mean Marian but when you think of all the people that were there I am grateful only three were killed although it should not have been any as it should never have happened

Dusty's secretary ran marathons in London for yeara as did a good friend of mine.

The President has declared this as an act of terrorisim. I hope they catch the S.O.B's who did this. No lives should have been lost and it is a real tragedy!!

It goes to show that there are still threats from lunatics out there, and always will be. Should they find the vermin responsible for this cowardly act, let's hope the laws in the US can deal with them in a less lenient way than we do here in the UK.

It was heartbreaking to hear of the 8 year old boy, who ran out to congratulate his dad on finishing, then he ran back into the crowds to join his mother and sister--then the bomb went off, and he was killed, his mother seriously injured, and his little sister lost a leg.

It is impossible to understand how anyone could commit such an indiscriminate and awful act.

Mariana, I saw the Dad on tv last night on the news, and yep it was heartbreaking to hear him recap what happened. I just hate when I hear stuff like this especially when it happens to kids.

I have just emailed my Boston friend on the latest news.

A policeman was shot several times has died, and also one of the suspects of the bombing has also been shot dead. I also read people were warned to keep away from Kenmore Square - another area I am familiar with as there used to be a great record store there.

For a city that stays out of Internationall news it has certainly hit the headlines this week!

For all the wrong reasons Karl!
The second presumed bomber is still on the loose, and the whole city has been brought to a standstill.

If it is proved that these Two brothers were the bombers at the Boston Marathon, which looks highly likely, and if and when the police succeed in catching the other brother, at least it will be Two dangerous individuals less to cause havoc and misery to innocent people.

Good news that the other brother has been taken into custody, after being found hiding in a boat in someone's backyard. Boston can breathe again!
