ROY BARRACLOUGH

Post by karl » Thu Jun 01, 2017 12:13 pm

Just read that Roy Barraclough has passed away at the age of 81.
I saw Roy in a play some years ago and he was very professional.
Rest in peace.

Very sad news.
He was wonderful with Les Dawson when they were Cissie And Ada. Unforgettable, TV comedy at it's best. He was also extremely good as Alec Gilroy in Coronation Street.
R.I.P. Roy.

Sad to hear this news of Roy Barraclough. He was a good versatile actor and as John mentioned the double act of Cissie and Ada with Les Dawson as Two Northern housewives were so typical and so funny.
We hadn't watched Coronation Street for some time but he will be missed by many.
R.I.P. Roy Barraclough.

Yes I thought they did it well Robert. The original series caught on in America years later, I was in a department store lift in Boston and some staff were also in the lift and coming out with all the catch phrases.

Yes it was good Karl ........I thought the actor who played Mr Humphries (John Inman's role) was excellent :) :)

In Australia they made their own series of Are You Being Served and one of the characters spoke out "Are you free Mr Humphries" ...........the lift door opened and there was our John Inman coming out of the lift saying "I'm Free" ..........the audience went wild :)
