Matt's perfect diction and pronunciation

Post by Edgar » Wed Jun 14, 2006 11:07 am

I have just listened ( again) to Matt singing Hava Nagilah and can vouch for the fact that Matt sings this song word and pronunciation perfect. Being Jewish and having been to many functions where this song is performed, I have heard this sung with many words imperfectly sung. However, when Matt sings it, PERFECT! :D

I agree 100%. In addition to the excellent diction, Matt brought an added dimension to the song. I love the tempo break in the middle. I believe it's the only recording where he sings a capella. What a joy to hear him singing without any backing! You can really hear his pure voice. In addition, this recording illustrates his incredible range. He sings a low C (two octaves below middle C, which most basses can't even sing), and then goes as high as an F above middle C. And he sings it in full voice with no falsetto. Outstanding!
