Yes agree with you Robert and Maureen of This Way Mary and Didn't We Matt's is the best.
And yes a great final show.

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Just found out Dons show has been on Radio 2 for the past week or two...………...but I know last weeks was a repeat from 2019 so I assume tonight's will also be a repeat too...………….his new series should be due in early July but with Don being laid low by the virus it may be delayed

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
I didn't know he was on Sandra......I only check the Radio 2 listings when Don is due to come back for a new series...……..I wonder why they are repeating old programmes from Don as his new series wasn't due until early to middle of July...…..maybe the show they had on at 11.0 pm was a load of rubbish so brought some Don Black repeats programmes in it's place

Robert it's been on since his last series ended it used to be Jools Holland that came on when Don finished his series.
Iv'e popped in on I player some weeks, but only to hear Matt.

Thanks for the info Christine...…...seems a bit odd of Radio 2 to continue with Dons programme straight after his last series ended...... and not have anything lined up to replace it

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Thanks for the info Robert and we look forward to listening to Don's new show and fingers crossed, he will play something from the new CD

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Sad news.........this is Dons final series............Don spent nine days in hospital with coronavirus even though he had been self isolating..............tonight's show was really entertaining.............he played the lovely Jerry Vale song You Don't Know Me ............Don played this song from his "favourite singer matchless Matt" I Get Along Without You Very Well which is one of Matts greatest recordings........but, Don went straight back to the very often used Hoagy Carmichael album.........I'm sure that is the only album he has of Matts !! .............so no more of Dons shows to look forward to after this series and no more Matts songs to look forward to hearing too ...........I record all of Dons shows so I'm going to keep them all this series instead of deleting them

Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Such a shame it's Don's last series no more Matt songs...it's the only show you can rely on for a Matt song.
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
Robert should take over the show and prove to Don that Matt has more albums than the Hoagy Carmichael one.Christine Hampshire wrote: ↑Mon Jul 13, 2020 5:01 pmSuch a shame it's Don's last series no more Matt songs...it's the only show you can rely on for a Matt song.
Re: Don Black on Radio 2
They would take me off air after a couple of weeks Karl, because I would be playing mainly Matt songs for the full hour
