TV's Greatest All time Movie Songs.

Post by Lena & Harry Smith » Sat Mar 25, 2006 9:34 pm

We have just watched this TV show. It passed away an hour. Due to the promise of Shirley Bassey and the Bond films to be featured, it whetted our appetites to watch it in the hope of perhaps seeing or hearing Matt.
Well we did see Matt for a disappointing second only singing From "Russia With Love"
but apart from Vittorio Gigolo's nice rendition of "My Heart Will Go On"
It was still the best part of this show.
We're getting so hard to please. :)

Hi Lena and Harry

Did you like the Bond medley sung by Shirley Bassey?
Fans are saying she sang it better than on Another Audience With Shirley Bassey. The old confidence is back, no?

Terence, we have been wanting variety shows back on our TVs so perhaps we shoulcn't be critical.
Shirley sang the songs superbly without the dynamic power and exuberance and even though she hit the top notes when needed similar to " An Audience With", this is perhaps her way of saying this is how it's going to be. :) Sensible really.

Sensible thing to do

I recently saw a clip of Liza Minnelli in performance in which she missed all the high notes of her 2 signature songs.....But The World Goes Round & New York New York. Poor Liza has to continue singing these songs and I guess where they are concerned, she cannot sing them in a subdued way paired in a medley or in a lower key. But the verve that she displayed in singing them earned her a standing ovation. Bravo for bravery when the voice is not there.
