Well, another reminder that time and tide wait for no man Robert, and in this case it's the fit man who'se dead. There's no justice is there.

John Kerr didn't look as handsome in the last photo I saw of him Robert, it was one with Jack Jones at some ceremony or other. Of course he's not as young as he used to be!!

Maybe a bit of plastic surgery was tried, although most who go through this end up looking like a freaky clown or ET.

Watched "On The Beat" with Norman Wisdom last night on dvd, hilarious!

John, is this film part of yur collection, a rental, or taped off the telly?

Hi Gray, part of my collection. I love collecting these old films, tv series etc, many that have never been released on dvd. I have a few contacts, and every now and then I'll just order a few discs. Because the TV is just so awful now, despite all the channels we get, and there is virtually never anything worth watching, I always try and make sure we have something decent to watch from years gone by. Remember the days, when there were only 3 TV channels, and shut down around 11.30pm at night, except for weekends when there used to be an odd horror film on etc. And yet, there was so much more to watch then, decent programmes.

ooooh, you do sound old John!!!

Yes, I remember those days John.

It was much better.
I noticed there is a program on TV tonight that takes a modern family and puts them in a 1970's setting (because we were all so hard done to in the 70's, weren't we?)

No plasma telly's, or Xbox's, shock horror!
How will the family manage to last a week!?
It's not humane!

And that is an example of the rubbish we are served up on prime time television.
Bring back 'Ask The Family' I say!

I'll mention something else as well, remember the days when you had to get off your backside to turn the telly over!?

Remember that!? Actually leaving the chair to change channels!

It was tough in those days.

That was nothing Gray. We remember my mother having a slot TV that took shillings, now that was a pain if it ran out, specially if her favourite sport like horseracing was on.

Remember the Power Cuts we had in the 70's.........how did we manage during those days ...................and remember how the BBC and ITV both had transmisssion breakdowns virtually every day (just in the middle of your favourite programmes) ................and remember when your TV went on the blink, and you had to lift one side of the TV up, then drop it back down to try to regain the picture ..............sometimes that method worked and sometimes it didn't

I'll tell you a funny story.

I got a call from my mum a month ago saying her tv was on the blink.
The volume kept dropping all on it's own.
So I went round to try to fix it.
Now my parents have a long lounge with a telly at either end, one for my dad, the other is my mums.
They frequently engage in a battle of wits when watching different channels - each complaining the other's TV is too loud.

So I went round to fix Mums TV and found nothing wrong with it, perfectly stable sound.
It was most confusing but my mum was adament the set was faulty.

'Twas then I noticed a twinkle in my dads eye and after a quick search of his whereabouts I discovered an extra remote control, suitable for my mums telly, that dad had bought with the single intention of surreptitiously driving the sound down (and my mum mad) on mum's TV from the other end of the room.

I found this hilarious!
