After the wonderful Johnny Mercer programme last night I remembered
LAURA--- Frank Sinatra/Vic Damone/Matt and many more

THERE I'VE SAID IT AGAIN-- VAUGHAN MONROE/BOBBY VINTON/ VIC DAMONE/
FRANKIE VAUGHAN./AL SAXON
Although Bobby Vinton and even Al Saxon had minor hits with this song
I choose VAUGHAN MONROE

Re: Two Versions of Same Song - Your Favourite
I guess you have not heard Johnny Mathis sing this song--it appeared on an LP , only released in USA, called the Silver Anniversary Album--also included him singing "The way you look tonight." It was never released on cd, and to my knowledge these tracks do not appear anywhere else.

Don't think we have heard Johnny Mathis version of "There I've Said It Again," But Vaughn Monroes version has always been our favourite too, which reminds me of another of his songs ...THIS IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR. ..."Shep And His New Music" recorded this song too, but Vaghan Monro's was very good and the most popular

Re: Two Versions of Same Song - Your Favourite
No I haven't heard that version Marian.
I HAD THE CRAZIEST DREAM--Helen Forrest/Doris Day/Mel Torme/Perry Como

STARS FELL ON ALABAMA. Lot's of orchestral versions, plus vocalists, Frankie Laine, Ricky Nelson, Johnny Mathis, Lee Wiley, but it rests between Ella Fitzgerald and Doris Day, and no doubt Doris Day's is superb.

THE ANNIVERSARY SONG... AL JOLSON The famously remembered recording , but I prefer ANDY WILLIAMS....

Re: Two Versions of Same Song - Your Favourite
I would be surprised if you had heard JM sing "there I've said it again"-it is a very rare recording--however-
"I HAD THE CRAZIEST DREAM"" by JM is more recent, and it is my favourite version.

DADDY'S LITTLE GIRL.... nice recordings by THE MILLS BROTHERS and DONALD PEERS, but AL MARTINO'S by far the best.
