Hi Robert, yes David played the 1943-47 version V disc of Frank's "I'll Follow My Secret Heart". We much prefer the later mature Sinatra Reprise recording with Robert Farnon when Frank was in London for his Palladium and Royal Albert Hall concerts.
We agree with you on Spanish Eyes Robert, the accompaniment was totally alien to the lyrics. In fact it seemed as though both Matt and orchestra weren't quite clear or certain if it was a rehearsal for recording or the real thing, because now and again it would come together and come right. Well one way or another it escaped and got through. One, not so good out of hundreds of breathtakingly good recordings :) isn't bad though is it.
Eric Hall can be heard on the web. just key in Radio Essex Eric Hall and click on to Listen Live. Be prepared though Robert we all have the same name, listeners and guest artists alike on this show it's " Bubellah"
Eric says that it's a jewish term of endearment. We looked it up in the dictionary and it was a pancake :)

That's right Harry and Lena, and being Jewish I can confim the definition of "bubeleh" is exactly right. What a lovely word!

Sorry about the spelling on our posting Edgar. We have Jewish relatives but have never thought to ask them the meaning of Bubeleh
But as you say Edgar, lovely word !!! lovely people too. :)

Hello Lena and Harry, I have been checking on the internet about Radio Essex and Eric Hall. He is a very familiar figure, I have seen him on TV a few times. I'm actually listening to "Listen Again" at the moment from last Sundays programme. Reading his webpage I found out that he was actually born in Shoreditch (which rings a bell)!! as we all know someone else who was born there, dont we. Thank you Lena and Harry for the information on the Eric Hall show. I will give it a try, as the Johnny Walker programme is off the radar for me now.

My tears will fall now that your gone :(
