Hi Robert, yes David played the 1943-47 version V disc of Frank's "I'll Follow My Secret Heart". We much prefer the later mature Sinatra Reprise recording with Robert Farnon when Frank was in London for his Palladium and Royal Albert Hall concerts.
We agree with you on Spanish Eyes Robert, the accompaniment was totally alien to the lyrics. In fact it seemed as though both Matt and orchestra weren't quite clear or certain if it was a rehearsal for recording or the real thing, because now and again it would come together and come right. Well one way or another it escaped and got through. One, not so good out of hundreds of breathtakingly good recordings
