Hi Mark. I checked the Gary Grace Website, and he is actually from Kettering in Northamptonshire. He supports Liverpool FC. So were did you get the Hull connection from Mark. Also there is no mention of our Matt in his favourite singers list.

My tears will fall now that your gone :(

Hello Mark. Are you the Mark Fox mentioned on the Gary Grace Website, from the Tony Bennett International Appreciation Society. You kept that quiet. Or is that the other job you have, that you told us about.

Gary Grace may have mentioned Matt somewhere on his Website, but in his factfile, his four favourite male singers are Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Michael Ball and Stevie Wonder. I do know that he is one of the members on this MM Website, but has yet to post anything.

:D Didn't keep ITBAS connexion 'quiet' deliberately,in fact I mentioned it on previous posts-but that's not my 'other'job.
Harry&Lena are ITBAS members and others too.
My regret is never having attended a Matt Monro concert although I did see him at a TV recording when he guested for Tony(Bennett)at the TALK OF THE TOWN.

The pic of me on the left is on the zebra crossing outside ABBEY ROAD STUDIOS in London when my wife&I were at a recording session for Tony's upcoming 80th Tribute album due in September(Tony is 80 on August 3rd).

Hi Mark. I can remember you mentioning having your photograph taken on the zebra crossing outside Abbey Road studios. But I cannot remember you mentioning ITBAS, it must have slipped my memory.
We all want to know what your other job is Mark. It's not top secret is it, 006 .??
I bet that was a very special TV recording session, at the Talk of The Town with Tony and Matt, that you were present at Mark. Can you remember what songs Matt sang. It would be great if any TV footage was still available somehwere, for future use on DVDs etc..

: :D I mentioned the Talk Of The Town TV show some time ago here-check back through the topics.
One song Matt sang was TIME AFTER TIME(from memory),I still have the invitation card from ITV. My reason for being there was my Tony Bennett connexion-the bonus was seeing Matt.
The recording session(s)at Abbey Road were over three days-Tony was only there for the second day as the planned duet with Paul McCartney was postponed due to Paul having a sore throat.(Tony returned to London at the end of March for one day to complete the duet with Paul of The Very Thought Of You). However,it was an excellent time to renew friendship with the Quartet,Sound Enginerrs&Tony's 'Arranger Of Strings',Jorge Calandrelli and famed Record Producer Phil Ramone.
On the second day,Tony recorded a duet with George Michael of How Do you Keep The Music Playing?-Also at the sessions were Tony's sons,Danny&Daegal,Tony's girlfriend and her Mother-a special time.
Abbey Road Studios have a kind of magical aura-whilst Tony recorded in Studio One-The London Philharmonic Orchestra were in Studio Two.
this was the second occasion we had been at a Tony Bennett session there, previously we had been there for Tony's HALLMARK CHRISTMAS ALBUM with The london Symphony Orchestra.
Pinch me in case I'm dreaming!

PS go to the message board 'MATT MONRO LIVE'topic-see TALK OF THE TOWN topic.

Thanks for that Mark. I vaguely remember reading about Talk of The Town, a while ago, it was last July wasn't it. But I don't remember reading about ITBAS.
I now know that Matt sang " Second Time Around "and "Time after Time".Thanks for the information.

:D I didn't give ITBAS too much of a plug here as I thought it impertinent.
Regards,
M
