Yes, I have mentioned this musical in the forum. It is definitely not obscure and it even had a film version. I played for the show in high school! That's probably why I like the score so much.

I have to admit I am stumped on this Paul. And on Lena and Harry's as well.

Hi Jeff--I have checked through every song that I think comes from a musical--3 times! even the songs I already know backwards---and I still cannot find those lyrics.

I think we need more help , please !

I believe my lyric is from what is considered one of Matt's rare tracks. Probably the musical never made it to the West End; it's very American. Al Martino performed a song by the composer in his recent UK concerts. There ... three clues for you!

I know the second lyric of Lena and Harry's and can sing it, but cannot place the song yet.

Well done Marian, think you are right on that one, still can't think of Paul's though.

No, I can't get Paul's either, but assuming my answer to Lena and Harry's is correct, I'll give you another one to think of -

"I WON'T SEEK THE PART OF HER THAT CAN'T BE MINE".

Yes, it is "A Lot Of Living (To Do)" from my favourite musical, Bye Bye Birdie. It's only on The Singer's Singer, where the composer is listed as unknown, which surprised me as this is one of the big production numbers from the musical. I remember that it was very hard for us to get the rock and roll rhythm correct back in high school.

The composer is Charles Strouse and lyricist Lee Adams, who also wrote the musical All American, which contains Once Upon A Time, which John and Lena and Harry reported was sung so beautifully by Al Martino in his recent UK concert tour.

Jack's recorded it on a very early album of his. In fact that is the title of the album.
