Where have I been!?

Post by michduncg » Fri Mar 02, 2007 1:41 pm

Hello everyone!

Just popped in to see how you all are - its been a while since I have had a chance to sit down and have a look through what you've been talking about. Sorry I've not been around as much recently - busy at work and at home. In particular, my partner and I are planning our Civil Ceremony in May, and its getting very close!

We are in the process of putting the 'playlist' together for both the ceremnony itself, as well as the evening function. So far we have Matt singing 'On a wonderful day like today', 'I love the little things' (well it is EUROVISION 2007 the day after the do!), and 'Lets face the music and dance'. I've also managed to persuade Marc (my partner) that we should have Bobby Darin singing 'More' and 'Hello Young Lovers', although Kent Marian has pointed out that I have omitted my favourite record 'Taking a chance on love'! In addition Marc has included Alma Cogan singing 'Dreamboat', and some Mamas and Papas tracks 'Play you own kind of music' and 'Its getting better'. Thats all for the ceremony itself, the evening playlist is an ecletic mix of pop from the last 40 years, including a few Eurovision tracks (doesn't everyone have Mary Hopkin, Dana and Sandy Shaw played at a 'Wedding' Disco!!??

I hope that you are all well and will try and get in more to say hello over the coming weeks!

Michael

Michael - This sounds like a very exciting event---catered by Waitrose no doubt! Please give us all the details. Have you purchased your outfits from John Lewis yet?

The music sounds perfect! I don't have any suggestions on music, because it's your and Marc's special day. But please, no YMCA! Come on, do it for me....please. :)

Thanks for your kind thoughts - it is indeed very exciting :D We were going to get a cake from Waitrose, but have found something a bit different from a wonderful cake shop in London - little individual brightly coloured cakes with all sorts of different motifs on that you arrange on a big tray to make a centre piece.

I will be getting myself a suit from John Lewis of course - if I get one that I can wear for work I can claim uniform subsidy lol. So I am looking at the Ted Baker collection at the moment

As for Y.M.C.A. Paul - we are breaking with tradition and not playing it! However be assured that 'The Weather Girls' will be gettin a spin, and 'Your disco need you' by Kylie will ensure that camp disco anthems are still represented!

Hi John - Thanks for your comments. Did you ever get the picture of your cat/dog uploaded? I can never remember how to get in the photo gallery!

Hi Mike, yes Barnie finally arrived about a month ago, with a lot of help from everybody, I had them in a wrong file type, they weren't in jpeg form.

Hi Mike--all you have to do to look at the photos is double click on the "Members Lounge Logo" , and you will find the photo albums. You will easily spot the animal one, and see John's dog Barnie.

You may recognise another 2 little dogs there!!

I have just had a big sort-out, and found my favourite pic of my sisters puppies---it was taken a few years back, but as it was so cute, I thought someone might want to see it.

I'm just going to see if it's on yet Marian. I have a lovely pic somewhere of our dog as a cute little bundle of fluff too, must look it out. Sadly he's no longer with us.
