What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
Hi Lena and Harry, it is a while since I listened to this cd, must look it out.
Terence, I think the Passage album of The Carpenters is one of my least favourite, apart from Ticket to Ride, there are only a couple of tracks i really like on this one, I Just Fall In Love Again is beautiful, and Two Sides is nice, but I could never get used to B'wana She No Home (or whatever it was called) and Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft, even though the latter was a hit in the u.k.

I like Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft because it's so different. I noticed that Passage is no longer for sale on HVV or Tower's websites. So it must be out of print; I'm glad I bought it years ago! I listen to it quite often. I know I wrote about this on the Your Other Favourite Artists section, but I love All You Get From Love Is A Love Song, Sweet Sweet Smile, and Don't Cry From Me Argentina from that album. I agree with John on the B'wanna song. I prefer I Just Fall In Love Again by Anne Murray.
This morning I listened to Dusty Springfield's Am I The Same Girl CD compilation. I love her versions of The Windmills Of My Mind, Spooky, and Am I The Same Girl.

Hi Paul
Even though I appreciate Anne Murray's rich low tones, isn't her version of "I Just Fall In Love Again" the one where she changes the pronounciation of the word "dreaming" to "dreamen"?
Passage is still in print in Japan where it retails online for just US$19. I was shopping for it online but in the end, Jack Jones and Patti Page won.

'Passage' album was one of my fave Carpenters albums - for all those tracks that Paul mentions esp - 'Sweet Sweet Smile'. I also loved 'Oldies but Goodies', which featured Richard doing excellent - 'The Night has a thousand eyes', and 'Deadmans Curve'. It also featured 'Yesterday Once more'

My mistake - indeed, there were pix of 1950s US Cars all over the inner slleve as well I think - the Carpenters always used to give you lyrics to sing along to as well!
We used to have 'Horizon' when I was a child - slow ballads except for 'Mr Postman' and one called 'Happy' which I used to love as a child - but not heard for years until tonight - thanks to i-tunes
