New Game - Celebrities who could play Matt Monro in a Film

Post by Catherine M » Tue Mar 13, 2007 10:20 pm

First suggestion:

RAY QUINN

He has the look of a young Matt Monro just starting out.

Second suggestion:

ALFIE MOON aka what's his name

He has the cockney charm and the deep voice

Right come on everybody............

You must mean Shane Richie--he has also done some singing in his time.

I shall have to think about this one.

How about Bradley Walsh, he's a good singer who could copy the style and he has a similar dry wit that Matt had. :) :)

When I was a very young boy, I thought Matt was Sean Connery, or Sean Connery was Matt, whichever way round you want to look at it! :)
Whenever 'From Russia With Love' was played in our house I had a mental picture of the one and only 'Bond' singing the title song too!
Just thought I'd let you know! :)

PS The funny thing is, and we've told Michele this, whenever my eldest daughter (who's only just turned 5) see's a tux in a shop window or on telly or a picture of 'James Bond' somewhere, she points out that 'that man is wearing a Matt Monro dress up costume'! :)

Is this for a acting or singing role? If you want a great London actor with a lot of presence - it has to be Ray Winston . While known for his tough guy roles, he is a very versatile and talented actor. I just don't know if he can sing

Here I go again, I hear those trumpets blow again.......

I know he's no longer with us, but who was that actor who starred in "The Power Game." He was often likened to Matt, and I'm sure I saw a comedy sketch once where they appeared together. Was it Patrick Wymark?

Perhaps the obvious one - Matt Monro Junior!
