Funnily enough, my sister asked me about this recently-she could not remember hearing thw winning song-I sent a link from Youtube to her.

To me , it is a typical Eurovisionsong--bright , breezy, with a catchy chorus--it could do well. And, like it or not , Pete Waterman does this sort of thing really well.

It is best to record it, then you can whizz through most of it.

Very true Marian

On page 24 of yesterdays Sunday Express an article about Eurovision was plugging a new book due out called THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST:THE OFFICIAL HISTORY.
Let us hope that Matt is mentioned in the book as their was no mention of him in the article despite a lot of other British entries mentioned from over the years :( :?

Yes Sandra, I read the article too, scanning through looking for a mention of Matt..As you say, nothing, and his entry came second too, much better than many of the others.

And Matt must have been just about the most famous of the British entrants over the years :)

Also, talking about famous singers, one of the middle aged male contestants on todays Eggheads had never heard of Anthony Newley before  he was in the music category too :!: has he had his head buried in the sand since birth !!

Looks like we all spotted that--

I watched the Eurovision 1st semifinals last night-amazingly there were about 6 songs that I quite liked --only Malta that i liked did not go through. The songs seemed a little more "normal" last night-not so many whacky songs.

The 2nd half is Thursday night--when UK is allowed to vote--I do not know who Paddy O'Connell is--who hosted the semifinals--but he must think we are all morons--if he said that Uk were not allowed to vote last night, he said it about 100 times !!

Tonight on channel 5 is a programme about Justin Lee Collins [not sure who he is], but he is attempting to go in for Eurovision for Ireland, with a song written by Ronan Keating--I think Ronan also wrote a song for last year's Eurovision too--for Finland-or somewhere like that.
