Ray Quinn Album out
Whose going to be buying Rays album? Me for one! I've had a sneak peek on I-tunes, and downloaded 'My Way' and 'The way you look tonight'. The tracks he covers are those recorded by many others of late - Michael Buble, Robbie Williams and Westlife to name but a few.
That said, he gives a very credible performance, and the arrangements are superb, although they could do with turning the band down a bit in a few places! His voice sounds fantastic (although he sounds a bit young to sing 'My Way' convincingly!!) Its so refreshing to hear a young singer sing swing with a real passion. Its what he likes doing, and he seems pretty good at it. I really hope he does well and goes on to cover some less predicable songs!!

I already have this on preorder from Amazon--plus I have copied him singing "The Way you look tonight" from x- factor on to my "Special dvd"--that is one of my very favourite songs. He is doing a lot of promoting at the moment-to be honest, I think some of the song choices could have been better, as with Russsell Watson's cd.

I hope Ray gets to control his own career and continue his progress as a great vocalist, rather than do a Charlotte Church and turn all chart rock on us! I'd really like him to be the UKs answer to Michael Buble - just someone who lives to sing. I know we have Jamie Cullum, but he is just a bit too of the wall for me!

Sorry to Ray, we've gone off at a tangent here!! I expect we'll get back to him later..
They were discussing the fashions and pop stars of The Sixties on Richard and Judy today. The fashions of Carnaby Street, Tin Pan Alley, Jean Shrimpton etc. and of course the start of the Beatles and the Stones.
Mini skirts were very much in vogue then, and long hair for men, until the Beatles came along of course!
