Friends of ours are going to see Jeff Hooper tonight with the BBC BIG BAND at Cadogan Hall. It sounds like a great evening!
We've never heard Jeff in concert but our friends swear he's brilliant. :D :D

He is SUPERB. Wish he was in our area more.Last time we saw him was at THE SANDS in Gainsborough doing a 50's style show with Rosemary Squires.
Of course we know from 'THE BOOK' what a big supporter of Matt he is.
He is going to be singing at one of Micheles book signings at Newport Nostalgia Music Society on July 2nd. :D :D

We must definitely try to see him somewhere, there are a lot of dates and venues on his website. Of course the best singers always come from Wales! :D

I lost touch with Jeff a few years ago-he did a lovely radio interview with Tony Bennett for his then RADIO WALES programme.
Enjoy :D

I loved the warm tribute the Mastermind winner
paid to his wife, as the aphorism puts it:
'Behind every successful man ...'

Jeff Hooper has always been one of my favorites ever since I attended the Big Band Conventions in Pontins Pakefield Center in 1989-1992, and he was singing with Syd Lawrence & His Orchestra along with Sarah Gilbertson who was also brilliant. What ever happened to her? Also two of my favorite trumpet players were Terry Reaney and Mark White who hopefully are still playing somewhere. Every 5-6 months I play my VCR tape of "Syd Lawrence - Live in Concert at the St Davids Hall, Cardiff - 14 Nov 1990". Nearly twenty years ago, but it seems like "Only Yesterday" as they say in song. Syd always had a string of fine vocalists from the 1980s & 90s including Tony Jacobs, Eleanor Keenan, Roy Marsden, & Loraine Craig.
I read that Tony Jacobs is still performing, but how about the others? Please keep me informed & Thanks..............Henry
