Hi Marian

I am also listening to the first disc of The Rare Monro.
All Of A Sudden is very impressive and should have been a big hit for Matt.
I like the way Matt sings Let Me Choose Life. Those glorious high notes he hits and the way he holds them is simply remarkable!

Listening to Perry Como at the moment, his last studio album he recorded entitled TODAY. On this he sings The Best Of Times plus a great version of Wind Beneath My Wings, in which he used to sing in his later concerts.

Hi Mariana - not sure how you sort your ipod - I am sure there shouldn't be too much of a problem, except the music that you have downloaded of i-tunes can sometimes cause an issue as i-tunes has a habit of assuming that you are trying to make an illegal copy of a track. But all the music you have downloaded off your own cds shouldn't be protected in this way. marc is our resident expert on i-tunes which we seem to manage to transfer to our 3 ipods and lap top ok. He is away at the moment but on his way home soon!

John, those Two Perry Como songs that you've mentioned are sung superbly, in fact throughout his long singing career we cant ever remember Perry Como making a bad recording.
We'll keep Marc in mind then Mike when we venture in to Ipods which we haven't got a clue about,  but have been promising ourselves to get.

John

That Perry Como CD is rare and hard to find. I have yet to purchase it. Are all the songs good? Was Perry in good voice for his last recording session?

Hi everyone, long time no wotsit!

Like michduncg, I've gone all modern in the last month or so. Although having campaigned for a Matt Monro CD to be put on the juke box at my social club, I'm not only obliged to, but absolutely love putting on at least one track every time I walk in. But at home, apart from my trusty Syd Barrett LPs, I've been listening to not much else apart from The Fratellis. A bit of Kaiser Chiefs and a fair amount of Arctic Monkeys, but that's about it. Which is probably why I haven't been on here much. Normal services will be resumed soon I'm sure.

Ahh - I'm having a retro day now! I've got on i-pod shuffle - sang some great tracks - just working his way through 'let me choose life' off the 'Rare Monro' - I think he's been on for two hours and its been great so far! I'm supposed to be cleaning but just keep coming back to check the forum! Aww - 'My way' is just starting

Hope the social club agree to your demands jintygirl!

Yes Ternece, all the songs are pretty good on this last album, recorded in '87 when he was 75 years old. A couple more well known tracks on it are THAT'S WHAT FRIENDS ARE FOR and TONIGHT I CELEBRATE MY LOVE FOR YOU,also The Carpenters BLESS THE BEASTS AND THE CHILDREN.

Every day is a day for thinking of Mum's, particularly those of us who have lost mum's John, so we are thinking of you today being your mum's Birthday that's always an extra reminder of your thoughts and memories.
