Shirley's new single is out soon and you can watch her perform it at (difficult web details!) www.youtube.com/watch?v=09c_qOpiPSk - I hope that's correct! But I'll tell you - this should see her back in the Singles Charts - it's a cracker!

Thanks Lena and Harry,
The video is superb too! I saw her in Blackpool 40 years ago and she is still improving! Trust you are both fit and well? Fancy a jog in the morning?

Terence is a great fan of Dame Shirley Bassey.

Hopefully if we have another fan club meet this year, it will give us a chance to meet up with many of those who could not make it last year.
Edgar travelled from Wales last year, Helen from Scotland, Gray from Yorkshire, plus many others, not to mention Jeff----all the way from US--for a long weekend !!!

Thanks for the information on the single Bill.
Always been a Shirley Bassey fan. I think my great-grandad must have started that as she was his favourite.
I saw earlier that Michael Eavis confirmed today that Dame Shirley is to play at that this years Glastonbury Festival. :D
Amazing singer, amazing person and as you say Bill always still improving herself. Just Great! :D

Hope all well? Have you had a chance to view Shirl and her new song on video? It's a complicated address! www.youtube.com/watch?v=09c_qOpiPSk But when you get there, it's worth it! It should be a hit! Take care.

Can't say I've ever been all that keen on Shirley Bassey. I think she tends to over-sing, if not shout, at times, and I dislike the way she cuts the notes off in mid-flow. Having said that, I do like her version of "Moonraker" (is there any other version?), and I also like "Diamonds are Forever", as much for the song itself as for her really.

Hi everyone,

Just imagine for a minute, the sight of Dame Shirley singing at the Glastonbury festival! She would of course be wearing her usual nice low cut dress! I wonder if she will be wearing her wellies as well - just in case it should rain and then of course there would be the usual mud slide to cope with!!

Take care now,

Hilary :D

Good to see you've come out of hiberation Hilary!

I won't ever forget the Morecambe and Wise show Shirley Bassey did with them when they stuck her foot in a big boot! Maybe she'll need the pair for Glastonbury!!!!
Didn't do Tony any harm appearing there anyway did it?

Hi Hilary--good to hear from you again.

At a recent concert [last year] in Wales Shirley Bassey performed in an open air concert in the pouring rain---all the audience had raincoats, rainhats, umbrellas etc--while Shirley was looking incredibly glamourous in a lovely yellow gown and feather boa---she was under cover, but I am sure she would have got wet, with the wind etc. The audience were just ecstatic. She sang with Bryn Terfel at the end.
