I had not heard Randy's name mentioned in the long list, rumoured to be taking Louis' place---I like Randy--he knows what he is talking about, and will say if they are not so good--just not as blunt as Simon ! But I believe there is also going to be another female judge--could this be Paula I wonder !!!

I thought Michael Ball was a good judge on Soapstar Superstar--also Martine McCutcheon. Last year , I thought Cilla Black was abysmal!!

No idea about new presenter--I liked Kate. I think Zoe Ball would be good for that. But it could be Ben Shepherd--I like him too.

It is a shame Kate Thornton is being replaced, I thought she did a great job on the X Factor!

Randy Jackson is a complete phony on American Idol. He claims he has street cred, but he has none. He played bass in a lite-rock band that had maybe one hit. He claims to have produced Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, etc. If their records are any indication of his producing abilities, I would say anyone of us could do a much better job as producer.

I loved how the wonderful Brandon Rogers basically refused to look at him. Almost all contestants mention Simon or Paula as the judges they respect the most. Basically everyone I know agrees with me and would love to have Randy off AI. So I guess I should be happy that he will be gracing your shores and judging reality singing contests. I'd prefer Louis Walsh remain on X factor. He knows music.

Randy's commentary on AI is completely worthless. When Simon says something contrary, then he always backpeddles and tries to change his opinion. A total fake!

Plus, he always likes Chris Richardson's nasal performances. Even another reason why he doesn't know what he's talking about!

The only positive is that occasionally he wears an interesting shirt!

[Sorry Marian and everyone for being so blunt ... I'm usually yelling at the TV at his critiques, arrogance, and mistakes.]

Jeff--it is interesting to hear your opinion of Randy---I had never heard of him before American Idol--I guess I have got used to him, seeing him on so many shows in 4 series of AI.

I have to admit that Louis' credentials are impressive--even if you do not like Westlife, Girls Aloud etc, they are hugely popular.

Going on hunger strike because of a TV talent show :!: :!: :!: :!:     as Marian says, there are lot's more worthwhile reason's for doing that, but not for a TV show.

The Zombies biggest hit in the UK was "She's Not There" 8)
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

We didn't watch AI last week, but from Pauls analyses, we've got the picture, and like every one, we can't believe that Sanjeya is still around, well every one that is except his mum and dad.
As for anyone going on hunger strike for any reason we just think.... stay silent about it but go right ahead.

Harvey can do it if anyone can-we meet him in London usually-he used to promote Tony's UK concerts and Pavarotti too.

I think at one stage he was also promoting the concerts of Johnny Mathis.

Plus I guess it helps if the artist cooperates--Samantha Mumba was a pain in the neck quite honestly.

And I would not like to see her on X Factor.--No way !!

I see it's been announced today that Dermot O'Leary will take Kate Thornton's place in the X Factor. I like Dermot, but I don't know if this will really be the right position for him. :?

Is he the one who presents "Eggheads" ??

If so, then I do not think he is right for the X Factor job !

No Marian, that is Dermot Murnaghan on the Eggheads. but we agree with what you say.
We quite enjoy this quiz, but find Dermot sometimes rather rude to the Eggheads and irritating at times when he repeats the question and replies so hesitantly with the answers. :x
