"JOSEPH---ANY DREAM WILL DO"
"JOSEPH---ANY DREAM WILL DO"
I just watched the first show tonight---and I just LOVE it---even better than the "Maria" show.. John and Zoe are back as judges, who I both liked last time round, this time with Bill Kenright and Denise Van Outen--who also I thought was very good. Some of the singers had amazing voices--and some had that "different" look, that ALW is looking for.
I am going to watch it again, and try to pick out my favourites-I have a couple, but need to remember their names.
It is a great show, and I know it will be as addictive as "Maria".

Marian, we watched it and thought it was a total shambles, and i suppose that's why we will probably watch it again because it can't get any worse.
Zoe Tyler is the dragin this time and doesn't pull any punches, but someone needs to be in control.

We like Bill Kenwright, apart from his football connections he organised an after show party for Al Martino the last time that Al appeared at " The Theatre Royal" Windsor. Unfortunately we weren't invited.

I saw it Marian and quite enjoyed it, though it appeared rushed and to have a lot squeezed into one programme. I suppose it's better than weeks and weeks of the poorer singers at the beginning, before we finally get to the better ones with any kind of chance of being Joseph.
Anyway, I shall watch it again.
Marian.

The Grease show has already come and gone in the US, Robert. Are you having your own version in the UK? It didn't get good ratings. One of the judges (supposedly the creator of the original Grease) was the most annoying person perhaps ever on TV. A girl from my hometown was in the finals, but she didn't win. I voted many times each week for her.
I won't be watching the "Grease" programme as my loyalty on Saturday night is to the BBC as I'm a Doctor Who fan. Caught a bit of the "Joseph" programme but probably won't stick with it as it seems too much like a retread of the Maria thing, and I've got a bit cynical about this sort of thing after the recent reports about Connie Fisher's voice failing her and her having to be supported on stage by a background recording of her voice to enhance her performance. I believe her original intention to do every performance has now come unstuck and she's had to scale them down - shades of Martine McCutcheon in "My Fair Lady" - though I did read an article which said that Aoife from the "Maria" programme is going to be filling in for her, which is good for her.

Well Connie Fisher was obviously excited to have got the part of Maria, and was saying how confident she was that she could perform the part every night without a stand-in. No doubt many experienced performers who heard her say this are not at all surprised at the outcome knowing that saying and doing are Two different things.
