I like Matts picture on the cover Marian, in a brown cardigan and red (polo?) shirt. You don't see that picture of Matt very often, but I think Matt looks coooooooooooooooool 8) 8)

The Rare Monro should have a starting bid of 100 pounds. That's how good it is! :)

I'm still listening to the Through The Years compilation. The trees are starting to bloom in Washington, so Matt Monro's Spring Is Here sounds especially lovely.

Listening to disc one of the "Ultimate Collection" by Dame Vera Lynn tonight. I bought the two disc set a few years ago for £4.99, but only unwrapped it tonight

There is a great deal of great Jack Jones music about---it is just sometimes hard to get hold of. But thanks to Marian, I am also building up my collection, too.

We have heard quite a lot of Jack's music on different stations recently.
We tune in to Angel Radio when we are not tuned into GMMY who play all these great singers.

Did you get fooled by Dewi's April Fool joke this morning L&H :?: (I listened this afternoon). He pretended to be touring the big film studios in the USA, and playing a song to go along with each stop off on his "studio" tour. People and noises could be heard in the background, as if he really was there. But at the end of the show he reminded us of todays date :!:

It was not an April Fool---but I have just realised what I did---I listened to last weeks show [on playback on the computer] instead of the new one!! Well half of it, anyway, as I went to bed half way through and listened to the 2nd half of the current show--that means I missed the first half of the current show.

What a dope !!!!!

I hope you listened to the Dave Vera Lynn special on Radio 2, Robert. On the second programme, she commented how much she liked Frances Langford.

This morning I drove to work listening to Elliott Yamin's new CD, which debuted at #3 on the US charts. He has a great voice live and on record, but the material is not great. He has tried to record positive songs, but the lyrics (especially the corny rhymes) and melodies are very average. It's a shame he didn't record an album of the soul songs he sang on American Idol. Maybe it will get better with repeated listenings, but I doubt it. I'll likely soon return to listening primarily to The Rare Monro -- currently four consecutive months at #1 on my album chart!
