Thanks Michele. We just booked our room at the Premier Travel Inn in Hayes. Should be a wonderful day meeting up with the Monro family and all you nice people. It's going to be quite a week for us with concerts, we're going to Cologne on the 23rd November to see James Last in Concert ( for about the 20th time!) :D

I've never been to one of these events and don't want to be over- or under-dressed. I prefer not to have to bring formal attire from the U.S., and need plenty room in my luggage for the purchase of CDs, sheet music, and assorted British products. (We don't have good cookies, crackers, or facial products in the U.S.!)

Would a jacket and tie and dress trousers be appropriate? Or will this be a more casual event and a nice shirt and trousers will suffice?

This will be an informal event, the idea is to be comfortable and have a good time. Hopefully you will meet lots of other fellow fans and then see the concert.
Times have changed and it used to be that everyone went to the theatre dressed in a suit but nowadays mostly anything goes.
I am personally looking forward to meeting everyone and hope it is a fun night
