No, to be honest it left me a bit baffled too but dazzled by the cinematography and the soundtrack. My favourite Wong Kar Wai films are In The Mood For Love and Chunking Express. Especially ITMFL because of the Nat King Cole songs included on the soundtrack.Terence Lee wrote:Hi Sheila
2046 is not the easiest movie to appreciate. The pacing is so deliberate and the director's eye for detail means the film plays like an art movie. I have seen it once, appreciated it of course but also yawned through it. It is not something I can watch often.

John, we also like Judi Dench. There's a nice web-site you may want to look at. www.djdchronology.com

Hi John
I also watched Notes Of A Scandal on DVD last night and was amazed at Judi Dench's acting range. Here she tackles a grey character who becomes unbelievably possessive and manipulative. There is a scene in which she practically looks evil.....the one where she tries to prevent Cate from going into the car to join her family for her son's concert. As she issued the ultimate threat, her eyes were absolutely blazing with fury. Hope she picks up an award for this role!

Watched "The Glenn Miller Story" DVD tonight.............................WONDERFUL. Starring James Stewart, June Allyson and of course featuring Frances Langford singing "Chatanoogah Choo Choo"
the music is glorious, but the ending is always so SAD

Took my two girls for a walk down by the River Ouse in York at the weekend, we had an ice cream, watched the boats sail by, and started our amble along 'Dame Judi Dench Way', a lane leading down to the river.
She's a good old York lass, brilliant actress.
John, I also watched Casino Royale the other night, I have to admit, I was a bit disapointed by it, maybe I was expecting too much after all the BAFTA nominations.
I really like the chase on foot at the start though.

Sounds like you had a nice stroll on a perfecly sunny day along the river with your Two little girls Gray. Those few nice days were rare for this time of year.
Judi Dench although born in North Yorkshire talks now so typically English as we say, she surprises herself in "Mrs Henderson Presents" when she comes out with that F our-letter word.
