Music you sing along to - in the car, bath, when hoovering..

What are you playing in the background.

In the car at the moment I have Richard Valentine (Icouldn't use his proper name for obvious reasons  ) and a great cd entitled One More Sunrise, some good tracks on this including a superb version of Climb Every Mountain, and also My Favourite Song, which is featured on our Matt's HEART OF A MAN. :)

Have been on the road a lot the last week, visiting friends and relatives while making last minute plans for the Civil Ceremony in less than three weeks time

While driving my Mum and Dad around, we had Matt, Bobby Darin, Mama Cass and Dean Martin on - I then changed era and style with the Carpenters, leading my Mum to ask if we had anyone who was still alive on our Ipod! So I put some Eydie Gorme

Gray - David Cassidy was in Manchester this weekend with a 70s retro show. Marcs' (my partner) Auntie Alison went to see him and was very disappointed with him in this year (she saw him a few years back in Blackpool). Apparently he is not going grey gracefully, and the hair colour is not very flattering! She also thought Showwaddywaddy hadn't aged well (in need of hip replacements I think she said, after one of the guitarists got stuck in an awkward position whilst walking 'under the moon of love). And apparently the Osmonds (now fronted by Little Jimmy) looked like they were taught to dance by Peter Kay! However, she was enchanted by David Essex, who has aged very well by all accounts. As you can see Auntie Alison, doesn't judge on musical ability - they may have all been brilliant for all we know!

I think for growing old and still looking good, there are not many to beat Donny Osmond !!!

Yes there are some others--older --who still look good--in fact some look better now than when they were younger--including Donny---but I would not have classed David Essex in that group.

I think Shirley Bassey is one of those who doesn't seem to look any older, at 70 she is looking, and sounding fantastic! :D

Thats cos she's got the range isn't it  (it means more if you're a fan of the spoof documentary series 'Rock Profiles!)

I've been thinking that Donny Osmond is beginning to show his age. Time to stop colouring his hair.

Sophia Loren still looks good, as does Gina Lollobrigida.

In fact Auntie Alison did say that David Essex was very grey, but then h has been for some time. But he still had a 'young face and twinking eyes', apparently  he also sang very well. He is about to start work on a new musical. The Osmonds did a good version of 'Don't love me for fun', but ended up having to do covers of other groups songs,

It's perfectly fine for women to colour their hair forever. But men should stop once they reach 50, and Donny Osmond will be 50 very soon!

You're right Jeff - woman can get away with it, as long as the roots don't show!

Marian, I'm sorry to say that your hair colour would be "grey" or maybe "white"  or a mixture of both.

Mike, I think the song you mentioned is actually "Love Me For a Reason"
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

You could well be right Robert---but while they still sell hair-dye in Boots, I am never going to find out
