Have been on the road a lot the last week, visiting friends and relatives while making last minute plans for the Civil Ceremony in less than three weeks time
While driving my Mum and Dad around, we had Matt, Bobby Darin, Mama Cass and Dean Martin on - I then changed era and style with the Carpenters, leading my Mum to ask if we had anyone who was still alive on our Ipod! So I put some Eydie Gorme
Gray - David Cassidy was in Manchester this weekend with a 70s retro show. Marcs' (my partner) Auntie Alison went to see him and was very disappointed with him in this year (she saw him a few years back in Blackpool). Apparently he is not going grey gracefully, and the hair colour is not very flattering! She also thought Showwaddywaddy hadn't aged well (in need of hip replacements I think she said, after one of the guitarists got stuck in an awkward position whilst walking 'under the moon of love). And apparently the Osmonds (now fronted by Little Jimmy) looked like they were taught to dance by Peter Kay! However, she was enchanted by David Essex, who has aged very well by all accounts. As you can see Auntie Alison, doesn't judge on musical ability - they may have all been brilliant for all we know!

In fact Auntie Alison did say that David Essex was very grey, but then h has been for some time. But he still had a 'young face and twinking eyes', apparently
he also sang very well. He is about to start work on a new musical. The Osmonds did a good version of 'Don't love me for fun', but ended up having to do covers of other groups songs,
