I have watched all the American Idol Programmes from Idol 2. I find it compulsive viewing, and I never miss it. I think in this series that Katherine is the best singer, and she is a lovely looking girl too--I really hope she wins---she did a beautiful version of "Someone to Watch over me" the week before last.

Hi Mark--I did not know that---I usually watch it on a Saturday night---are you saying that it was Taylor Hicks who won--he was crazy !

Katherine should have won.

Never mind, I shall watch it all on Saturday night.

I am looking forward to the next series. Also the Celebrity X-Factor starting this weekend.--should be interesting.

Taylor Hicks

Hi Marian

I have only watched one episode of American Idol and here's what I saw.

I have been told that Taylor Hicks has a good voice but after winning American Idol, the song that he sang did not show his voice off and I thought he was flat in a few places. There were a few girls in the finals who were good like the big-sized one and the one with the curly hair. Dionne Warwick came on with a whisper of a voice left. Toni Braxton was also not too good. What happened to the stars? I thought the competitors outsang them.

Hi usafret and everybody. I couldn't agree with you more usafret, even though I haven't seen any American Idol. I did see a clip of the winner on TV last night and he definitely is a Jay Leno lookalike, but I was not impressed at all by his voice.

My tears will fall now that your gone :(

Hi all--I am not sure who Jay Leno is, but I am looking forward to seeing the final, sometime tomorrow. I still think Katherine shou;d have won---I cannot imagine the sort of recording that Taylor will do!

Hello usafret, Mariana44 and everyone. I agree again with you usafret. If any of the American Idol contestant's could sing HALF as good as our Matt, the audience would or should be left dumbstruck.

Mariana44 Jay Leno is an American "Talk Show" host.

Hi all, well I finally got to see the fiinale, and I know I am biased as i have watched American Idol from the beginning, but I thought it was GREAT.

Different format to previous years, lots going on. I really like Carrie Underwood's new song [she was last year's winner]. My favourite part was the Burt Bacharach medley--my kind of music--he really is a genius!
I thought Dionne Warwick looked great--better than in her younger days even- do not know how old she is, but she seems to have been singing forever. It was a real treat to hear her performing with Burt.

I am sticking to my opinion that Katherine should have won, but I have to [reluctantly] say that Taylor's new song was better than Katherine's. If they had both sang the same song, as our Pop Idols or X-factor do, it may have been a different story.

So the you go--all over for another year

Hi Mariana44. Just to let you know that Dione Warwick is 64 years young. Born 12-12-1941.

Hi Robert--thanks for that information---she certainly looked good on the Finale--I have seen her in the past with some strange hairstyles, but she looked absolutely elegant , with a very attractive outfit on. I thought she sounded good too, although I think Terence disagrees with me.

Hi Marianna4 and Robert, we unfortunately didn't watch American Idol, but from recent similar shows like this one that we have been brave enough to watch, everything indicates to us that tastes and opinions of a good singer have changed considerably, and our choice of any singer that we have ever chosen rarely seems to gets anywhere :(
Matt would outshine them all. None that we've seen could hold a candle to him. By the way Dionne Warwick is Whitney Houstons cousin and Whitney Houstons mother is Cissy Houston, successful back up rhythm and blues singer. :)
