Hi Everyone,

Listening to the wonderful voice of Chris Rea.
I know the weather is pants here in the UK at the moment but Chris's CD "On the Beach" is so relaxing and reminds you that Summer isn't too far away.....hopefully! :D

My lovely dad lent this CD to me and I won't be giving it back just yet!  :D

John, Vera Lynn said that going to Nashville was one of the best and happiest experiences of her career.
We've just found out we shall be warbling along to some of those songs of WW2 on Sunday in Weston-Super-Mare with "We'll Meet Again" that's touring the country.
Andy Eastwood is the main star, and has been been touring with Ken Dodd.
Perhaps Bill may have heard of him

The Nashville album is brilliant, she sings a selection of these songs on the Vera Lynn Sings dvd, televised originally in 1977.

This looks to be the one with the brilliant pianist George Shearing then John.?? known for the great song piece "Lullaby Of Birdland."
George Shearing was born blind, born in Battersea London, the youngest of Nine children to working class parents.
He is 88 yrs of age and received the OBE in 1996, and recently was knighted for services to music.

We do not seem to hear a great deal about Nat King Cole on this forum---but I am listening to him singing "Stay as sweet as you are"--it is just lovely.
