No it wouldn't be the same without Terry, like us he spotted the Christopher Biggins look-alike entrant, silver glittered costume make-up and glasses.

I think you should have said the whole of the "UK" Hilary, not just England
"My Tears Will Fall Now That You're Gone,
I Can't Help But Cry, But I Must Go On" :(

One of our friends texted us to say he thought that the Ukraine singer looked like Sue Pollard! The locals here loved that song! And they certainly don't consider themselves part of the 'Eastern Europe' voting bloc! I didn't like it as such, and I think we could say that was one of the songs that didn't take itself too seriously

It was also nice to see the French sing some of their lyrics in English! Not that it did them any good. Still, you don't have to understand the lyrics to get whats going on - we went to the Opera here in Tallinn (Estonia) last night. Stall seats for £10 in a beautiful ex-Soviet opera house. We didn't understand a word, but Marc still shed a tear (Violetta dies at the end - sorry to spoil it for everyone  )

Hi Mike, glad to hear that you and Marc are still having a great time.
So, Violetta dies at the end of the opera.

It was consumption what did her in, and she died in the bedroom! :?

Eurovision update! 15 out of the top 100 pop songs in the i-tunes download chart are from the Eurovision 2007 album released on Monday - Dancing Lasha Tumbai (Ukraine) at No 3, and Scooch at No 5!

We had Matt and Kathy Kirby (amongst others) played at a Eurovision Bar in Helsinki. In fact we just about took over the playlist, with our choices taking about 2 hours to play! Yes we REALLY do have that many Eurovision favourites! And most of them aren't UK

just we put the Eurovision subject to bed for another year, have to say that there are about six songs from it that have made it onto my i-pod, and none of them are Scooch!

1) Roger Cicero (Germany) - Frauehn Regier'N die Welt (Woman rule the world) which he has now recorded in English as 'Guess who rules the world'. Somehow the reference he made to 'mafia money' in the German version has been lost in translation, but not the refernce to Posh N Becks or Bill Clinton! A very catchy tune and a great swing arrangement made it my favourite

2) Bonaparti (Latvia) - Questta Notta. Dubbed the 'Top Hat Song' by our friend Tim, this was sung in Italian by Latvias answer to G4. A very powerful arrangement and quite a lovely song really!

3) Cvet Z Juga (Slovenia) Alenka Gotar - an opera singer accompanied on an accordion. Not quite sure who she is - maybe Slovenias answer to Sarah Brightman!

Amon the others are some pop songs by France (never that I would have French pop music on my I-pod but they did make an effort by singing part of their in English for the 1st time ever!!), The Worrying kind by Sweden (sorry Hilary!), ' and Vampires are alive by Switzerland!
