There are around 40 people on the "My Generation" track and video, with a total age of 3,000 years between them.

I love all the songs that Andy sang at that time--like "Happy Heart", etc etc.

David Jacobs played Andy's "The Sweetest Sounds tonight." superb, and so was our Matt singing "When Sunny Gets Blue."
A mention too from David of Micheles book.

Sounds as though we were all listening to David last night!

He seems to be playing Matt on a very regular basis at present.

Yes Marian that's great isn't it , but It's fair to say that David is generous to artists both sides of the Atlantic, and musically there is a mixed variety, whereas with Michael Parkinson, for instance apart from knowing that he plays a A Sinatra number every week, and that's fine, and so are the others, generally like Sammy, Ella, Tony, Sarah, Stacy, Sting, Cullum. Armstrong, but one of these are usually guaranteed.

Does Michael Parkinson ever play a Matt ballad :?: when I used to listen he always played an uptempo tune by Matt  but personally I don't think Parky is over fond of the Greatest Singer.............................MATT MONRO, as he's too blinded by the likes of Frank and co, to see just how great a singer Matt IS.

MP plays tunes from a BBC Playlist selection-not often his choices. Prefernce given to those with an album/book/etc.tp plug. 8)
Impossible to believe Matt isn't one of his personal favourites!

I listened to David Jacobs Collection last night. I enjoyed it much more than the previous week when I was listening live in London.

I wish he would have played Matt singing Who Can I Turn To rather than Anthony Newley, but I realise it was one of his signature songs. I really enjoyed the Petula Clark and Julie Andrews songs by Leslie Bricusse. I also liked the instrumental selections David Jacobs played. I had never heard of Bill McGuffie or Johnny Douglas. I need to get a recording of Bill McGuffie's piano stylings. I also liked the selections from The Pajama Game and the songs by Carol Kidd, Frank D'Rone, Tony Bennett, Andy Williams, and Tony Hadley (from Spandau Ballet ... I didn't know he had recorded an album of standards ... something to check out). And even though it's not one of my favourite songs, it was lovely to hear Matt sing When Sunny Gets Blue.
