It doesn't contain the word 'space' or 'moon' but the quotidian clue has been picked up on. I think I'll give you the weekend to have another think about it and then give you the answer on Monday if you haven't got it. I thought it would be quite easy but then again maybe it isn't.

:?: Could we have a musical clue, Jon? Something related to the composer or songwriter, or the singers who made the songs famous.

Yes, a clue along those lines would be useful Jon. With such a wide spectrum of all kinds of music, I must admit I'm finding this quiz very difficult.

Our answer with the Two songs was thinking of love as a wordly experience, some kind of every day feeling, so we need some extra help here Jon

It is difficult, isn't it?! The performers of the songs both came to prominence in the 1970s. That's your final clue.

I expect when we know the answer we will say--of course!!

But at the moment, I think we are all struggling. you will have to give us an easier clue, otherwise we will never get there--and I want to put my next one on, before I go away on Thursday !!

I wanted to guess Outta Space Oddity as Billy Preston and David Bowie became popular in the 1970s. But Jon said that space is not in the title.

I was thinking The Carpenters and David Bowie, who again sang outer galaxy type songs but I'm probably way off too. :? :?
Marian
P.S. Sorry, just noticed Paul already mentioned David Bowie.

Well, you got the Bowie reference right at least. I will put you all out of your misery.

The answer is:

One Day In Your Life On Mars.

The other artist was of course Michael Jackson. There, told you it was easy!!

I was like Marian and thinking Carpenters and David Bowie--
"Space Oddity" and "Calling occupants--etc etc."--but could not match them up, then "Space" was ruled out. Yes, maybe we should have got that!

As I am going away soon, I want to put my one on next, if that is Ok.

" Did this singer have meadows full of buttercups , on her island home".

And to give you an extra clue to make it easier, the answer is a singer, followed by a song title.

Now it's my turn to be flummoxed. I have an idea it might involve Dusty Springfield.

And Australian singer Christine Anu sang about her island home in 2000! and there are songs that start with Anu - but none of them in English!
