Good to see you back on the website Gray. We were all worried because of the bad weather in your part of the world. Robert too, but he returned last night safe and well!
Marian
P.S. Gray was logged in earlier, I promise! He just didn't make any postings.

As I mentioned in another post, one of my brother's and a sister were both flooded, and I was about 50 yards away from the same fate

Thank you all very very much for your postings and messages, much appreciated.
How kind of you all.
Our garden was under water because the drains just couldn't cope with the deluge, we lost some possessions in our garage, but it didn't get in the house, though it was up to the threshold of our patio door. :(
We got off lightly.
Hope Robert is OK, and anyone else hit!

Thanks again to you all.

Gray

PS haven't been able to log on much lately because of work, very busy and putting in long hours. Looking forward to October when you can all give me some more TLC, I could get used to this! :) :) :)

So good to see both you and Robert back Gray, and to know that you are safe and not too much extensive damabe to your home.
We count ourselves very lucky here in London up to now, particularly as there is more rain to come in the next few days.
We are all looking forward to October Gray, we are not staying at the hotel over night but never far away.

Glad to see you are safe and well Robert, hope Gray is as well.
We should have been in Yorkshire this last week holidaying in our caravan, but Len has been in bed for a month, with a back injury, previous to that in the Isle of Wight with our dear Matt Monro friends, Dave and Anne Holden we have become very close, after meeting them at Littlecote House, but both had to be cancelled.

Len was in the Emergency service for thirty seven years, so knows what it is like to be ever on call Mark.

Have booked our tickets for young Matt's show at the Beck Theatre on the 2nd Oct. Best wishes to all

Good to have you back again Gray.
Now that we all know that you and Robert are OK, we can carry on as before! Let's hope the weather over the weekend won't be as bad as the weather forecasters say it will be!

Not always Robert---we had some very bad flooding several years ago in some of the villages nearby--Yalding and Five Oak Green, just a mile down the road. But I do not think it was anywhere near as bad as you have had lately.

Well-in recent years in our area of West Yorks.,the Winter weather has been very mild in contrast with Southern regions-it's ages since I had to dig out our snow-blocked drive.

BAD WEATHER IN YORKSHIRE

Post by Angela51 » Sat Jun 30, 2007 3:12 pm

:D :D :D

Pleased to hear everyone seems to be ok with all the bad weather around.

It is raining like Cats & Dogs here again, luckily I live in a village that

is high-up, the only downfall of that is the winds !

I really meant, it is usually a lot warmer down south Marian, than up north (winter or summer)
