What a coincidence! I'm listening to last Friday's ALW special on FNIMN. (I love the BBC!) Did any of you listen to this? I really enjoyed Connie Fisher, especially on The Sound Of Music. Such a lovely, pure voice. I may have to consider getting her album. Do any of you have it?
Earlier I listened to David Jacobs. I'll report that my two favourite Burt Bacharach and Hal David (let's not forget about him...he wrote the lyrics) songs are by Dusty Springfield

: Wishin' And Hopin' and The Look Of Love. But I also love Promises Promises, Walk On By, This Guy's In Love With You, Casino Royale (no lyrics there!), Close To You, and The Green Grass Starts To Grow. I just saw in wikipedia that Keely Smith recorded One Less Bell To Answer in 1967; I always thought The Fifth Dimension had the original recording.

Have any of you heard Keely's version? I didn't care much for Dionne's Warwick's A House Is Not A Home. Matt Monro's Alfie sounded a little different than the one I'm familiar with. It could be the headphones ... I'm not used to hearing the bass line so clearly.
