... Paul, Talking of MONROE. Mickie Rooney and his wife Jan, have just been guest on BBC Breakfast Time and it was Mickie Rooney who was responsible for Marilyn's name change from Norma Jean Baker to MONROE, apparently from a great friend of Mickies with the name of Monroe Manning.
....... Now not a lot of people know that.
QUESTION... How did the name Monroe  that was sometimes mistakenly spelt for Matt Monro  that was Marilyn Monro's name originate from

Sorry, Lena and Harry, that wasn't what I was thinking.

Here's a clue: The "question" for the answer MATT MONROE involves a record label that has been discussed several times in the forum this week!

If you don't get it today or tomorrow, I'll provide the question and explanation on Friday.

You're very close, Robert, but you didn't provide the record label or put it in the form of a question. The Singer's Singer reported that one label spelled his name as Matt Munro, but that's not what I'm referring to. Think about the label that forum members from distant parts of the world have been discussing this week.

Question..............Liberty/Capitol record label mispelt the name of Matt Monro on one of their 1960's releases - am I close Jeff ??

Question (for johns answer)..........from which film does Matts "The Precious Moments" originate from ................

Answer (I will put an answer on - just in case I am right  )

Question.. Where was Matt appearing in 1977, when he was surprised by Eamonn Andrews for "This is Your Life"?

Marian
I'll not add an answer yet just in case it's not correct. :? :?

That was not my intended clue Marian, but it is a good reply from yourself, so please carry on with another answer  I was thinking about Matt holding the Talk of the Town record appearances at the particular venue - held jointly at the time with Tony Bennett
