Jane Wyman R.I.P.

Post by Marian » Tue Sep 11, 2007 8:38 am

Another sad loss yesterday, I was reading that the film actress and former wife of Ronald Reagan, Jane Wyman, has died at the age of 93.
I'm sure many of you will have memories from her long film career in Hollywood.

Jane Wyman starred in one of my most favourite films ever "Miracle in the Rain ", with Van Johnson----it was a real tearjerker.

Unfortunately, I cannot remember the last time it was on TV , and although I have looked many, many times, I have yet to see it released on either video or dvd.

Maybe they will now release some of Jane's films as a tribute to her.

Sorry to hear about Jane Wyman. I always remember her for her role as Angela Channing in Falcon Crest, also from that wonderful film "The Yearling" if I remember correctly. :(

Sad to hear of Jane Wyman's passing.. The 1954 movie when she starred as a blind person must be one of her best remembered "Magnificent Obsession" with Rock Hudson and Agnes Moorhead.

Also in "Pollyanna" with Hayley Mills. This was a great film, by Walt Disney I think.

I have just done a search on Amazon, and found "Miracle in the rain" on dvd--region 1, luckily my machine plays region 1.

I have searched so many times over here in HMV etc, but never thought of checking Amazon !!

That is good-I can finally discard my old, old--not-very-good copy from the tv on to video--I am just so pleased!!!

My film "Miracle in the rain" arrived yesterday--quick service as always from Amazon.

I managed to watch it tonight---it was very dated--a little corny I guess--but so sad--and I just loved it.
