Robert

Thanks for your comments on the Manics. "Revol" is of course an anagram of "Lover" though what significance that has for the song I'm not sure. Do you have their new album? I think it's pretty good, though one review I read said they sounded like a "pi...d off ELO" on it.

Yes, Robert, Autumnsong is on their latest album, Send Away The Tigers. I have only heard this song once. I think I need to hear it several more times to evaluate it.

Ditto, Robert. I believe it has been released as a single in the last week or so but I already have the album so won't be buying it (unless there's an additional non-album B-side).

If you are a true Manics fan, Jon, you need to get over to HMV or Virgin this week and buy the two track CD single, the three track CD single, as well as the 7 inch vinyl single. They all have bonus tracks. Let's get it to number 1 on the charts and knock Rihanna's Umbrella off the top spot and prevent that Lily Allen clone, Kate Nash, from getting a number 1.

I have heard Autumnsong again and it's a very good song ... a real grower.

The Manics album (CD) is only £6.99 on the HMV website. Is it worth buying jon :?: I loved "Everything Must Go" but didn't think much to the follow up "This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours"

Thanks Paul. Well, I am a true Manics fan and will be getting the CD single. I already have CD singles of their other songs, though the B sides can be of varying quality, to be honest. I also have the album "Lipstick and Traces", which is a collection of all their B sides and outtake tracks, again containing some good ones, some completely forgettable.

Robert, naturally I am going to say that the new album is worth getting, but of course one can never guarantee that another person is going to like the same thing as yourself. But if you've enjoyed their earlier stuff it should press some buttons for you. "This Is My Truth, Tell Me Yours" (did you know that that is a saying of legendary Welsh Labour politician, Aneurin Bevan?) is not as well liked by Manics fans as some others but it appeals to me (there are a lot of slow numbers on it); in fact I like all their albums partly because they are all very different from each other. So, yes, I would say go and buy the new one.
