If we had a choice of not having this evening for that reason it would have been a great pity, and we thought it was a lovely planned and arranged evening by those who thought that the incomparable British singer Matt Monro should rightfully be honoured.

IT'S A FACT, !!! that Matt Monro is not only a hard act to follow, but an impossible one, but even though Matt Jnr has said that he doesn't try to emulate his fathers performance or his singing, he does sing Matt's songs, so one can hardly expect other singers to emulate Matt's performance or voice, and none of the singers at this concert tried. Understandably, many have stated that they find it difficult to listen to other singers singing Matt's songs, but our lovely Matt isn't here to sing them now, and those singers sang those songs in their own style.

Pleased you had a good evening, Marian, Peter, Lena and Harry. I enjoyed listening to the programme on Friday evening, a nice tribute to Matt.

Hi Robert, I haven't listened to Maureen Evans for a couple of weeks now, still strange about those two tracks though, isn't it?

Have just caught up with Eric's Sunday programme. Every week, Eric has a contest between Two singers and the listeners vote for who they would like to hear sing their chosen song. This week the choice was between Matt and Tony Bennett.
Matt won with 79 per cent of the votes, singing..."Yesterday"
This week Vince Hill was Eric's guest, and Vince has a book coming out near Christmas titled..."Another Hill To Climb"

I will be on the lookout for that book-I have liked Vince Hill since I do not know when--ages ago.

Vince has always been one of the country's best singers. He also hopes to be involved with a show in the near future that includes other singers recordings Frankie Vaughan, Dickie Valentine and Matt,

It is about time that we saw and heard some more from Vince.

I have just seen the book on order at "Bank House books"--ready for Christmas delivery. Apparently Vince has been very ill recently-I did not know that.

I listened in to the interview last night on the "listen again" feature, I think he is coming back on the show again in a few weeks time. I will definitely be looking out for the book too, Marian.

Listening to The Exciting Voice/The Italian Voice of Al Martino tonight, a couple of his finest albums form the early 60's. Hard to believe it is one year to the day since he passed away.

We agree John. Where has the year gone since Al passed away,
but what fantastic contributions and tributes he has had these past few days on his web-site forum and on Facebook, and well deserved.
We have been playing his music tonight too.

We have now caught up and listened to Friday Night Is Music Night.
We enjoyed reading the reports about the concert especially from Marian, Lena and Harry who were lucky enough to be there.
We agree that Matt is a hard act to follow and the singers must know this so well done to them for giving a really good performance. We also thought that the BBC Radio Orchestra played really well.
