Sorry for the delay in answering your post Gray, but when i was talking to Venables at that time he said that he was finished with football and would never go back to it.
Now i wonder what enticed him back, no prizes for guessing.

Now that's what we call mingling with the stars Mark. i've seen Sinatra Four times, the nearest I ever got to him was in 1984, at the Royal Albert Hall peering through the curtains watching him rehearsing.
I used to make morning and afternoon tea and coffee for the BBC for actors and actresses who rehearsed at a club where Harry was commitee member and leader. I have met Jack Warner, Peter Cooke, Dudley Moore, Marty Feldman, Yootha Joyce John Junkin Sylvia Sims All the actors of Dad's army Tessie o' Shea.
We knew and have met David Tomlinson many times and Robert Morley.
At our Charity days we met Roy Castle, cricketers Brian Jonstone, Dennis Compton, Colin Milburn,
Also met singer Ronnie Carroll, Denis Lotis,Ann Shelton, and last but not least Al Martino

We saw Ginger Rogers in "Mame " back in the late Sixties Robert and remember the very impressive way they arranged her singing and dance acts, making it look as if she was using a great deal of energy, when with most of her numbers she was being lifted high up with the aid of a burley bloke each side of her to give her a break. The look of relief on her face was impossible for her to disguise. Mind you she was 58 at the time.

Many thanks for the link Mark. It looks interesting. I see Susan George has had to cancel though. Saw her on tv recently talking about her horse photographs. I believe Jack Jones gave her her first Arabian horse.
Peter used to like Sylvia Syms in her younger days - "Ice Cold in Alex" etc. Recently, she has become a really good character actress though.
I have built up quite a good autograph collection over the years. It's sometimes interesting to buy an old autograph book, and find a real gem inside!
Marian.
