Post by Angela51 » Sun Sep 30, 2007 6:26 pm

:D :D

Just had Radio 2 on, suddently I heard the words Fred Flange, then

our MATT entertained with the music of : MY KIND OF GIRL.

(Brian Matthew's show). I was in and out of the house, so I missed the

beginning of the interview.

We thought it was pretty good too Mark, and we were still left with Russell Davies, Malcolm Laycock and David Jacobs.
Russell does spring some surprises at times, we had Tessie O Shea, with" Nobody Loves A Fairy When She's Forty", and Peter Sellers with "My Old Dutch! followed by Sinatra. All good stuff though.

Yes, I really enjoyed radio2 on Sunday, especially Junior Choice with Ed Stewart and Kenny Everett's show. I never heard these programmes before, so it was good to get a chance to hear them. It really was a golden time for radio...........

We were thinking of you Robert, along with everyone else who could not be there. You managed to crop up in our conversations several times---
cannot think why ...........

I'm listening to Sarah Kennedy on Radio 2 right now. Soon I will switch to Alan Titchmarsh.

Going back to Mark's posting about the music on Radio 2: I think the music on Radio 2 is perfect. I can't listen to standards, classical, or older music all the time. I need to hear new music as well as enjoy familiar music. I have learned so many great new songs this year because of Radio 2 (and Radio 1 as well). Sometimes I listen to Jeremy Vine just to hear the music. So I think Radio 2 provides the perfect mix of music throughout the week (with a few exceptions, e.g., Johnny Walker, Paul Gambacini).

Having said all that, it was nice to meet you Mark at Fans Reunited. But we will have to agree to disagree on the music of Radio 2. :)
