I don't know if you will know this Richard, but why is the website The Singers Singer, always about fifth or sixth on Googles MM headline page (when Matt Monro is typed into the Google toolbar) ? the MM Premier website is always at the top of the list :| surely The Singers singers has to be the most popular site for Matt fans ? :)

This is something that's always annoyed me - however I have no idea how to change this situation!

Any google experts out there who do are welcome to let me know!

I'm sorry to say this Richard, but I find the main page of the website rather confusing at the moment. The front page takes you to what could be a link to You tube, an Amazon or Titan website, or to a biography page, and it does not appear to be the main Matt Monro website. Although there is a link, it's not clear as to what as it is, as it just says 'continue to site.'
If I search through Google I find it confusing, and I am very familiar with the website, anyone who knows it less well, or just finds it for the first time, must find the same.
The Premier website probably comes up first as it has been around longer, and has a definite title that takes you directly there.

The front page is to make sure as many people as possible know about the book - it is common marketing practice to do this and won't be there forever - our link to the main site is much clearer than most!

The advert is posted on you tube and embebded into the page so is hardly a link to you tube particularly as it starts straight away.

However it is interesting to hear what others think and will bear this in mind when we re-design the front page.

This is nothing though to do with our ranking in google. We need to be placed top - first link, but at present I don't know why the other site is placed above us.

I'm looking into this further - It's aparently all down to "meta tags" - I shall be making sure that all of these are up to date for the next update and see what effect this has on our "google" rating!

I agree with Marian. I've bookmarked the forum, so I rarely have to go to the main and confusing website. I almost missed the excellent spotlight on Josh though!

I hope the music is removed from the redesigned website. Everyone knows his voice and we don't need to hear From Russia With Love. Plus having audio seems very outdated.

What's confusing about it?

The main website comes up if you press "continue to website"

and everything you want to find is the visable on the front page or by the menu - no rocket science involved!

The heading for this section is 'Ask Richard'......... not 'Moan at Richard'!!!

Richard works incredibly hard on the site and together we work out how best to promote the new things that are coming up. We have approximately 80 to 100 people visit the site every day and very few of these actually visit the Forum. It someone is only interested in the Forum then it is best to Bookmark it and then you can bypass the site altogether.

I spent nearly £5000 on the advert and now that it has had its time on television doesn't mean I want it buried. New people to the site can see the advert and go straight to the order page if they wish. My priority has been to highlight the book as it will soon fade into obscurity and I have to make the most of the time it has in the limelight.

I do not find the opening page confusing and unlike some, others like to be reminded of the music. Some of the newer visitors have never used the internet before so in fact the music is not 'old hat'. When we were asked to change the display colours, we did, when we were asked if we could make the font bigger so it was easier to read, we did but I see no reason to change the front page at this time.

There is a well known saying that comes to mind...... you can't please all of the people all of the time.

I think the current opening to the site is great as it is.

The video clip (on my computer anyway) starts automatically, and I've been singing that section of 'Born Free' all week as it's been stuck in my head every time I visit the site!

Keep up the good work! :)

That is good news--it would be good to see a few more new faces !

Sorry--that does not mean there is anything wrong with the old faces ! Far from it.
