Russell Davies played Matt's "Put On A Happy Face" this evening and mentioned that this was on Matt's recent 3 CD Matt At The Movies.

Our latest issue of "IN TUNE" arrived today with more and more choices of music now been released, even a CD with TV adverts to jog the memory for some, but pleased to see that "MATT AT THE MOVIES" was included in the listing and deservedly so.
Where do you start with this 3 disc treasure. Firstly the liner notes giving us a reminder of the impact on the movie industry when it was goodbye to silent movies and sound effects were added.
Again picking out our favourites on the first disc is no easy task but beginning with Matt singing "Spring Is Here" composed in the late Twenties by Rogers and Hart and from "I Married An Angel" can't be a bad start with the familiar perfect diction and breath control that's staggering.
Also of course there is "Love Story" the previously un- released English version of this song. a superb rendition by Matt, that's instantly become a top favourite with us.
"My Kind Of Girl" can only be associated with Matt and followed by Precious Moments" this tune famously remembered as the theme from "The Warsaw Concerto" one of the finest peices of music ever written, and who could possibly contribute and give it finer justice than Matt.
What more is there to say about "Maria" and after hearing "Somewhere" from the same movie "West Side Story." at the Fans Re-United, it's difficult to make a choice of preference out of the Two.
In fact it's difficult to pick out favourites from this first disk, and we know it will be the same with the remaining Two Disks but what fantastic songs, all Seventy Four of them from the worlds " Singers Singer " :) :) :)

I think I just, but only just, favour the second disc of this fab 3x cd set.

I'm sure you all remember how much I love 'Hello, Dolly' 'Sunrise, Sunset' & 'Hello Young Lovers' - but there is also 'Charade', 'Laura' & 'What To Do' on disc 2.
