THE ACADEMY AWARDS-2011

Post by hpooch » Mon Feb 28, 2011 5:48 am

Congrats to my favorite movie and my wife's favorite actor..."The King's Speech" & Colin Firth, plus Best Director & Screenwriter !
The U.K. and Australia were well represented in winning nearly half the honors in this year's Oscars. You all should be proud.......

Yes, congratulations to the Brits. Perhaps I've been persuaded to see this movie a little bit more now. :) :)

I feel I should go to find out just why The King's Speech is so popular too Lena. Even Colin Firth said he was surprised at how it appealed to so many. :D
I know why he does though!!

Everyone I know that has seen it has really enjoyed it--but even with the Oscars--I still do not fancy it .

So pleased that this film won its fair share of awards especially Colin Firth. :D

Over the years a lot of films have been hyped-up to try and make us believe how good they are and on occasions I have to admit that some of them have fallen short of the mark.

However this film is really as good as all the publicity it has had but of course the only way is to go and see it for yourselves if you haven't already done so and make your own judgement. I would be interested to read if anyone does find it disappointing and why.

Maureen :)
