Thank you Mariana. I will search for PASSAGE in Taipei and Hong Kong when I go there on holiday later this month.

Regarding travel, an extravagant thought just entered my mind. Why don't I fly to UK in May 2008 to catch both Jack Jones and Liza Minnelli in concert?

Nah

Just a note to Terence--the cd of "Passage" is quite hard to spot, as it does not have the title on the front--just "Carpenters", and a pic that looks a bit like some musical notes.

Listened to the Best of Mrs Jose Ferrer......................Rosemary Clooney  last night. Rosemary is the aunty of actor George Clooney. A well known singer and actress in the 50's and 60's (starring with Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Vera Ellen in "White Christmas") 8)

A lot of Miss Clooneys hits were novelty song's, but one of her #1 hit's in the fifties was the gorgeous Hey There a fabulous song, sung superbly and truly breathtakingly by Rosemary............I love the echo of her voice on the song 8) Most of Rosemary Clooney's novelty song's were produced by Mitch Miller, well known for producing those type of songs. Her "star" faded in the 60's, leading to her needing help from a physciatrist, but Rosemary pulled through to re-launch her singing career.

Bette Midler did a "tribute" album to Rosemary Clooney, a while back--included "Hey there" of course, plus lots of other Rosemary Clooney favourites. But I think my favourite "Hey there" was from Sammy Davis Jr.

Rosemary Clooney was one of our favourite female crooners.
She married and had five children with Jose Ferrer, (deserved an oscar for that too.) :x
Robert, yes we couldn't listen to "String Of Pearls "this morning.
We can get on the station now, but it's not playing back on the "Listen Again"
From the playlist It was songs of the war time to and commemorate Remembrance Day.

Just listened to David Jacobs paying tribute to his friend Robert Goulet. Very sad at the end when David said that he wouldn't be receiving his christmas card this year :( :(

I was listening. A really warm tribute to Robert Goulet---and it was good to hear Jerry Vale singing "Old Cape Cod".

Was it Patti Paige who originally sang it--or am I mistaken ?

No you are not mistaken Marian, Patti Paige was the first to record Old Cape Cod in 1957. Bette Midler recorded this one too. Both nice recordings.
