this song is sung by matt so perfect.....i really got into matts musis about 11 years ago whilst watching the italian job..who sings this brilliant song on days like these??..i looked into it and bought a greatest hits cd and ive been in love with this man of class since.autumn leaves is my fave though...matt will never die.. :wink:

A prime example of why Matt was a balladeer without peer, perfection of diction, sensitive phrasing combining to extract every ounce of emotion from the lyric. The combination of such a natural vocal with the sympathetic Spence orchestration makes this one of the finest torch songs ever recorded.

I always thought Nat King Cole sang the definitive version so I have not paid any attention to the Matt Monro version. Must play it now.
