Hello Lena and Harry, Mark and everyone. Well we didn't stroll through did we, a bit lucky really. Poor Owen, he's alway's bloomin' injured.

Hi Robert, no we certainly didn't stroll through, but it was a lesson for the lads as to what they will be facing as the games progress.
As far as Owen, we weren't totally surprised. They have to forget him.
Rooney was furious at the change over so that's a good sign that he was feeling fit and confident.
So Equador, Here We Come !!!!

:D
Another average performance overall. Wayne Rooney should grow up-his behaviour after the swap over was a poor example to youngsters.
Can someone explain Sven not taking more strikers with him?
Is this team really representative of the best we can field?

It seems that Sven is learning the hard way, their defending particularly in the second half was abysmal,  and now we face Equador who risked resting their three best players when they lost to Germany 3-0., but will have a fully fit squad on Sunday.

Hi Lena and Harry, Mark and all. I think Rooney was upset last night because he was frustrated by his performance on the field. With not being 100% fit, having only played once in the past couple of month's, he is bound to be rusty for a while, while he get's up to full fitness. That's why he was frustrated, but as Mark said he is setting a bad example to other youngster's with his poor attitude.
Mark, believe it or not the England team are definitely 11 of the best player's in the world. If only they could play together as we all know they should. ALL are world class. All 4 defenders, all the midfielder's and the striker's, ALL WORLD CLASS, without a shadow of a doubt, ask any football fan. But of course Micheal Owen is missing now.

Hi everyone

Last night got progressively worse from an England point of view, we started OK, but dear oh dear, what has happened to our back 5?
I don't like Carragher at right back, not at this level & I think poor Sol is lacking confidence to put it mildly - I hope Rio and Gary Neville are both fit for Sunday.
I didn't like the omission of Defoe at the start of the competition and it's looking increasingly dodgy now Owen is on his way home.
But, saying all that we have a very lucky manager and without playing well England have topped the group.
Joe Cole's goal was the goal of the tournament so far, Rooney has another game under his belt, Gerrard looks class in football boots, we still have a chance, we do, keep believing! Come on England!!!

(Sorry, will have to go now, the doorbell has just rung and it appears to be men in white suits...wonder what they want...):)

Hello Gray and everyone. When I said 11 world class players, I meant a full strength team including Gary Neville at full back, Rio at centre back and Owen up front, as that team of 11 quality player's pick's itself, doesnt it Gray. Top 11 Robinson (? after last night) - Neville- A.Cole- Terry -Ferdinand -Lampard -Gerrard- Beckham -J.Cole- Rooney- Owen.
You are right about Defoe, I bet Sven is regretting it now. Defoe has more experience which is needed at a World Cup.

Hello all. Have just watched an enthralling game between Argentina and Mexico, best match of the tournament so far. Argentina deserved their victory. Getting nervous now for tomorrow, especially with the predicted heat.

Hi All, we just got home last night in time to see the highlights of Argentina's win, but that will be the one to watch on Friday when they play Germany, but that is after we've beaten Equador today in the temperature of 100 Degrees, Phew!!!!
