What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
Re: What's In Your CD Player/iPod/MP3/Computer/Hi Fi, Right Now?
Hey everyone, I know my Dad has some Timi Yuro somewhere in the boxes in the garage. I do recall seeing the albums around as a kid. I can't say that I remember her songs or her voice though. I'm listening to Matt's lp "Walk Away", it has become heavy on my rotation table. Also the new Chris Brown cd a little Lady Gaga, Gordon Lightfoot , Frank Sinatra, The Bachelors, 5 Star, and 5ive.
It's gonna help listening to these while I do my ironing, and then settle in to watch Glee!

Thanks for mentioning this Lena and Harry. I listened to it and loved his recording of the very best song to ever come from a musical.Lena & Harry Smith wrote:Just listening to Alfie Boe on Alan Titchmarsh singing "On The Street Where You Live"
I was pleased with the tempo, which is the same tempo in My Fair Lady. (Sorry Marian

That was really Peter's comment earlier concerning the tempo Paul.
I just love anything Alfie Boe sings at the moment :wink He's even got me into opera!
Really looking forward to seeing him in Les Mis in the summer. The 25th anniversary DVD is something special.

I am loving the Barry Manlow shows on the great songwriters-"Thery wrote the songs"--there have been 4 on so far [out of 10].
The first 4 have been George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlenm, Frank Loesser.
Barry tells the composers life storoes, along with relevent music-including some rarely heard versions.
The thing I find fascinating, is that so many of these composers came from Russian Immigrant stock, arriving in USA, not knowing the language, or how to read music, yet between them, they have composed some of the greatest melodic and timeless tunes ever.

Did anyone hear Alfie Boe on the Terry Wogan show last Sunday, he sounds such a nice guy---and it was amazing to hear him sing part of "Bring him Home", with no musical backing--just his voice--absolutely beautiful !!
