We watched it too Marian and we also couldn't make out a word of what Leona was singing about. We thought it was microphone trouble at first. She seems a really sweet girl though.
It was good to see some of the cast from the old Hi De Hi series.

I missed the Hi De Hi get together as a friend phoned just as they came on. I would have liked to have seen it as I used to like the old series. Thought Sue Pollard didn't look like she had changed much, or Jeffrey Holland.  the others looked older though.
I did see the Tenko reunion a couple of weeks back, and really enjoyed seeing most of the cast again. I used to watch it with my daughter when she was still at school. :D :D

I was sorry to see Beverley voted off last night. "Hope" are supposed to be a group, but only one was singing, so I think they should have gone.
Beverley was the better singer too.

I missed the show last night but couldn't believe it when someone said today that Beverley had gone. She was one of the best in the competition, so I thought anyway.

Well "Hope" finally went tonight, voted off by the public. Leon is really growing on me, as he seems to be growing in confidence and giving a much better performance. He's so cute too!

Peter and I went to see "Christmas with the Rat Pack" tonight in Basingstoke. Great show!

I think it was a show all our group would have enjoyed Gray, look out for them if they are ever in your part of the world.
The three singers impersonating Frank, Sammy and Dean were all excellent, using all the singer's mannerisms and jokes, as well as having good voices. Great band too. :D
They really made you feel as if you were actually in The Sands Hotel, Las Vegas, not the Anvil in Basingstoke!
Being a Christmas show, there were all the usual standards, but lots of Christmas ones too. Really good.
:D :D :D

Marian, glad that you and Peter enjoyed the Rat Pack show. The time that these shows have been in London's west-end and in many other parts of the country ( mainly since Sinatra's passing) is simply proof that these songs written by the finest composers and lyricists will never die.

I was astounded when Sharon Osbourne" said she did not know the song "I vow to thee my country"--I thought everyone knew that--like "Rule Britannia" and "Land of Hope and Glory"---very traditional--alsi I think I read that it was Princess Diana's favourite .

I guessed that "Hope" would go---they have none through so many times before. I cannot see that we will hear much more from them---remember "Eton Road" from last year.................

Like you Marian, I couldn't believe it when Sharon said she didn't know the song.
I am glad that "Hope" went, they should have gone weeks ago.

Well we doubt if Sharon Osbourne knows "Three Blind Mice.. As for the girl band "Hope "we had only seen and heard them sing Twice and that was Twice too many.

For the first time I'm getting swayed towards Rhydian tonight, must be my Welsh heritage kicking in! I liked what he did tonight, and hope he goes through to the final next week. :D :D

Well, he did! also Leon, and Same Difference.
I find it almost impossible to predict the winner, but on vocal ability it should be Rhydian, pop star quality and appeal - Leon. All round likability - Same Difference. :D :D :D

I found it quite hard to predict the result tonight, and I did not reallty think that Niki would go--more likely to have been Same Difference.

I still think it is a safe bet for Rhydian to win-he sang really well tonight---I am just wondering what is the winning song, that they will all have to record---the difference between all the 3 singers makes it difficult to imagine them all singing the same song !!

In a copycat of our Xmas concert last year at Peter Jones dept store (motto:Making London Gorgeous  ), we got Beverley in to sing in our 7 storey atrium with a local school choir last week. She was fantastic - I've not been following the X-Factor really this year, but I did watch most of tonights semi and was very sorry to see Nicki go - it seems she had a fantastic voice and i hope she continues to have a career in singing

Out of the remaining contenders, I think I like Leons style the most, although I really didn't like his rendition of 'How sweet it is to be loved by you' that much!
Michael

Here I go again, I hear those trumpets blow again.......
