WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE EUROVISION SONG.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE EUROVISION SONG.
I am not sure if we have had this as a game before--but if we have it is so long ago, that I have forgotten it.
But as it is topical just now, I thought it would be fun.
Leaving Matt out of the equation, as we do not all want to nominate the same song.
Apart from that--any Eurovision song---it does not have to be a winner--it does not matter if you cannot remember the year--just the name of the song--singer-and country--or any 2 out of 3 !!
My first nomination is from NORWAY, and this song broke a run of really bad luck for them, as I do believe it won.
The group was called TEACH-IN--and the song was DING A DONG
[or something like that]

One of my favourites is "Say Wonderful Things" by Ronnie Carroll, it came numer 4 in 1963.

I think this was Eurovision, but I'm not completely sure... Dana "All Kinds of Everything" for Ireland.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE EUROVISION SONG.
Yes Marian-it was Eurovision, in fact one of the more successful entries, winning for Ireland and giving Dana a long singing career.

We liked The Allisons with " Are You Sure" in 1961. They were placed second.
Re: WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE EUROVISION SONG.
i think it was eurovision JOHNNY LOGAN ,,WHATS ANOTHER YEAR another irish entry

Re: WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE EUROVISION SONG.
You are right--Johnny Logan-another great Eurovision winner-and he has done quite well since--not as goos as Dana, but i think he concentrates more on composing.
Another of my favourites was MICHAEL BALL--ONE STEP OUT OF TIME---as I recollect he was a close second--I remember I was away that weekend, and I kept leaving the Function, to check on the Tv in the bar how Michael was doing.

This was George's favourite--from GERMANY--and i think the singer was called NICOLE--and I believe she won---it was released in Uk, and the title was "A LITTLE PEACE"--[or something like that]--I should know, because I bought the single for George--just not sure where it is now !!

I remember Nicole's "A Little Peace" as well Marian, in fact I think I bought the single, I think I was only about 13 or 14 at the time. Lovely song.

Re: WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE EUROVISION SONG.
My favourite Eurovision song is from 1974, the Italian entry Si such a lovely ballad sung by one of my favourite singers Gigliola Cinquetti
.........the song finished runner up to Abba and Waterloo

Another good one that came second was Scott Fitzgerald's GO 1988.
He was beaten in first place by Celine Dion who was representing Switzerland. singing a French song

Unfortunately Eurovision isn't known in the US, but I'd say I have a soft spot for Brotherhood of Man's "Save Your Kisses For Me" and Bucks Fizz's "Making Your Mind Up".
Re: WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE EUROVISION SONG.
My choice would be the song that beat out Matt's version of "I Love the Little Things" in 1964.....
"Non Ho L'Eta"("This Is My Prayer") by my favorite Italian Songstress, Gigliola Cinquetti (Robert is also a fan!)

I just heard Jedward singing their song for Eurovision on Chris Evans show-called "Lipstick"----and I cannot believe I am saying this, but I think it may do really well !! Very catchy, even on the first listen.

Another favourite of mine is Merci Cherie by Udo Jurgens, the Austrian 1966 Eurovision song contest entry, also recorded by Vince Hill and Matt.
