Nice words Robert...I'm sure Ed would have appreciated them.

You might like to know that I finally got hold of Ed's lady Margaret yesterday and we had a lovely chat. I also spoke to Ed's daughter Antje and they wanted everyone to know how grateful they were for all your messages. The Forum meant so much to Ed, it was like his extended family and they told me Matt Monro's music was one of the most important things in his life. He loved talking about the music and his collection and was always happy to help a fellow fan out with information.

He was ecstatic when Max and I met up with him on one of my trips to Florida and in fact we were due to meet up the following year but then I had the car crash and sadly it wasn't meant to be.

I know he is missed by everyone, he was a wonderful addition to our close knit family.

Margaret is 90 years old and is a heavy smoker and unfortunately she suffers from a hacking cough. She told me on the phone that she didn't realise just how much she would miss Ed and it isn't until now that she realises just how much he did around the house and in the garden.. It must be quite frightening to suddenly find yourself alone at that age. I really fell for her.

We do miss Ed's humour and Margaret is missing him around the house, but at Ninety she is still enjoying her cigarettes, regardless of a cough.

Like Harry, both my brothers smoked, and if I commented on my younger Brothers cough he would reply....yes I know and I have to take good care of it, it's cost me a lot of money. :)

Ed certainly was a gentle man in every sense
of the word, and the heartwarming photos
of him with Michele and Mickie graphically support
that view. Thanks from me also, Richard.
