Anyone ever seen a 1969 film called "Hans Brinker"? It stars Robin Askwith in a role completely different from those he later got typecast in (I speak of course of the "Confessions" films, which are perhaps best left unmentiioned). He's only 18 or 19 in it but acts rather well, in a more serious vein than the one we're more used to seeing him in. The fillm also stars John Gregson (of "Gideon's Way" fame) and Richard Basehart (of "Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea" fame).

Never heard of it, Jon, never mind seeing it!

Do you recommend I track it down?

If it's as good as the Man United and Barcelona game it will be, and fingers crossed for Reading's Manset to score the first goal.  :) :)

Just incredible how the The Man United v Barcelona game suddenly changed around after United seemed in command for the first Ten to Fifteen Minutes, and from then on it was a total exhibition from the Barcelona team.
There co-ordination and clean cut passing was a joy to watch.
United will no doubt have watched this game by now, because we believe that United as good as they are played at their best, but they will realise that they are no match for a team like Barcelona.

Reading came back the second half and we thought they were going to at least equalise, but yes it's only a game. :)

Our sons enjoyed it anyway. They said the Wembley atmosphere was terrific, and they stayed on afer the match to see the presentation of the cup, unlike most of the Reading fans. :D
There's always next year!

I went to see the new X-Men movie last night at the cinema.
I didn't particuarly like it, but what really shocked me was the number of young children, obviously into super-heroes etc, watching the film - but it was so violent, had scenes of a sexual nature and contained swearing, including that four letter word.

What a shame children grow up so fast these days :(
But an even bigger shame is that 'we' as a society encourage them to grow up fast. I mean, did the film makers have to include all the above in a 'superheroe' movie?
