The Joy of Easy Listening

Post by jon » Fri Jun 03, 2011 10:44 am

Did anyone see this documentary on BBC4 the other day? If not, try and catch it on iplayer or when it comes on BBC2. An hour and a half of the history and performers of easy listening, from Percy Faith and Ray Conniff through to Herb Alpert and the Carpenters, with lots of 60s footage. Unfortunately there is no mention of Matt Monro but it's still well worth a look.

I will certainly keep an eye out for that-sounds great.

We watched it Jon. Really enjoyed it, and was also wondering if we would see Matt.
However, we are wondering if we may hear him one week on the Thursday night BBC Radio 2 shows "Sounds of the 20th Century". It is on to the Sixties now so Fingers crossed. :)
